Amy Beckley Photography - Mississippi Based Photographer

My own daughter is getting married next Valentines Day in Seaside, FL. While I'd love (not really) to be her photographer, I've spent the past few days looking at local photographers here in MS to travel with us as well as photographers on 30-A. I've probably looked at about 30 websites in the past 2 days and I've been so frustrated. I posted in a photography forum that I'm a part of and tons of photographers sent me their website links.

Here are some things that I've learned in my search and things that have frustrated me.

*Websites not listing at the top where the photographer is from or at least the area that photographer serves. I instantly closed the tab.

*No clear navigation to pricing and once I found it, there was nothing just an "inquire for more information". I didn't inquire...too much work.

*Basic websites that looked like they downloaded a template and didn't take the time to personalize it.

*No link to social media. I wanted to go to at least Instagram and see their most recent work.

*Blogs where they haven't posted anything since 2019. It looks to me that they aren't actively shooting.

*I did fill out an extensive contact form on one site because I LOVED her work, but got an email later that day saying she was available and asking if I had looked through her packages on her website. "Of course, I did, that's why I filled out a contact form." That's all the email said. No call to action, no lets talk.... nothing.

*I filled out 8 contact forms early yesterday morning and only 3 have replied as of 10:45 today.

The good part is that I found my daughter's photographer. We had a long conversation with morning and she's sending my daughter the contract this afternoon. This whole experience has been very eye opening and I've definitely learned ALOT!

What are some of your frustrations or things that you have noticed while looking at websites for our homework yesterday?

Thank you Amy for sharing this with us. It's very eye opening and helpful on what to do and not do. Congrats for your daughter by the way!

I've seen almost all websites offering 6hrs package, or 8hrs, and to inquire. Only one I've seen that offers All day coverage and only that one package.
