Hi everyone. I am very behind so playing a little catch up today and really enjoying it so far.
I am a bit different in that I am not a primary wedding photographer. I am a family photographer from Port Moody BC Canada - I have done weddings in the past but my love does lie with documenting families. In saying that this still has been so helpful so I am very excited to be apart of it. Here are my favorite 5 images
I love all the little moments that are happening in this picture. The legs crossed on the step stool and him biting his brothers shirt, his brother not noticing completely immersed in what mom and sister are doing. The naturalness of doing a family activity together
Although the quality is horrible and I wasnt the actual photographer for this wedding. The couple told me it was one of their favorite images from the day because of the moment captured and missed by the actual photographer. It was a moment they treasured and shared every year on the grandmothers birthday.
I just love the tenderness of the moment between mom and daughter in this one. Its authentic and natural
i like the play with light & shadows and just the naturalness of the family dynamics playing. I also like the idea of the growing family being presented, old vs new, calm vs chaos :)
I really like the light in this one and the way the child is looking up towards his parents
that grandma kiss on the shoulder is so great!
These are so good! pushing into DOCUMENTOR is perfect for you. you could get weddings and family moments very, both, very easily.
Focus your brand on the simple things becoming beautiful.
It may be hard to convince a family to pay you much to 'document' their family. it's a bit of a new thing for most, probably.
you'll need to help them understand the way it works.
They'll love the photos on your website and your social - but you'll have to train them how to see their own family fitting into it.
