Day 2 - Who am I?
I always find self reflection challenging, but I'm always grateful to see what that reflection brings. So with that, here's my day 2 deep dive!
I'm a Creator primarily and a Documenter secondly.
These were some of the things I realized about myself in relation to photography:
-I’m someone that loves to create. I have ever since I was young. I loved art and I love photography because it’s another way that I get to create something amazing, but something that’s also valuable to who it was created for.
-I’m someone who is emotional (both sympathetic & empathetic). I cry during some of the speeches and first dances because I can feel the emotion of that moment. Those feelings are what I want to document and relate through photography.
-I like to keep up on the trends. This might be cliche, but I love when brides incorporate wedding trends into their day! I think I like it because it’s somewhat unconventional and exciting. It also prompts the couple to be more authentically themselves as they choose trends that represent them and will be fun for them.
-I’m also someone who understands the importance of the day. This is a day that can’t be repeated. There’s no do overs or retakes, and many times, even if there were, some of our closest family members and friends may not be there for the do over. I want to capture those special sacred moments between grandchildren & their grandparents (without a prompt), and between the couple and their other loved ones. It’s not a catchy quote, but one that always resonated with me is “Many times as photographers, we are the last ones to take a photo of a beloved family member while they were alive.”
From this, here are two of the One-liners I came up with:
-Your genuine love deserves photos that authentically reflect that. There, of course, is a time for power couple posing, but more than that I document the true emotions of your day.
-Your wedding is more than just stunning portraits. It’s a day full of emotions and reactions. I’m here to document your day not just in a collection of portraits, but in a collection of images that allow you to experience the day again.
love this!
I would LOVE to see an instagram story with YOU crying at a reception during the speech --LOL
push in and find ways to tell people how emotionally connected you are as you approach your wedding -- IN ORDER TO... Create and document.
there's some magic hidden in there! tap into it and you'll be on track!
